Privacy Policy
How openecore handles personal information collected through this website, and the rights you have over it.
1. Overview
This policy explains what personal information Openecore Private Limited (“openecore”, “we”, “us”) collects through this website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
It covers this website only. It does not cover any separate service, product or system we may build for a client under a contract; those are governed by that contract.
For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Openecore Private Limited is the controller of the personal information described here, and is established in India.
2. Information you give us
The only place this website asks for personal information is the enquiry form on the contact page. When you submit it, we receive the details you chose to enter:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your company, if you provide one
- Your phone number, if you provide one — this field is optional
- What you are building, selected from a list
- The message you write
Name, email address, project type and message are required because without them we cannot understand or answer an enquiry. Company and phone number are optional and the form works without them.
If you contact us by email or through a social platform instead, we receive whatever that channel passes on, which normally includes your name, your address on that platform and your message.
3. Information collected automatically
This website is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like any web server, that provider records technical information about requests in order to deliver pages, keep the service available and defend it against abuse. That typically includes your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, your browser and operating system, and the referring page.
We do not combine those server records with anything else to build a profile of you, and we do not use them to identify individual visitors.
4. What we do not do
We think it is more useful to be specific about this than to leave it implied. As of the date at the top of this page, this website:
- Sets no cookies of its own. It stores a single entry, named openecore-consent, in your browser’s local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics, so we do not ask on every page
- Uses Google Translate only if you choose a language other than English from the language menu. When you do, the page text is sent to Google to be translated and Google sets a cookie named googtrans to remember your choice. Choosing English again removes it. If you never use the language menu, nothing is sent to Google
- Uses no analytics, tracking pixels, session recording or fingerprinting unless you choose “Accept all” in the cookie notice — and even then only once we have configured a measurement service and described it on this page
- Lets you change that choice at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page
- Loads no fonts, scripts, embeds or images from third-party domains, other than Google Translate after you pick a language — the fonts are served from this site, so simply visiting a page discloses nothing to anyone else
- Runs no advertising and no advertising network integrations
- Does not sell, rent or trade personal information, and never will
- Does not use your information to train machine learning models
If we later introduce privacy-friendly analytics or any other measurement, we will update this section before doing so and note the change at the bottom of this page.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Read, understand and reply to your enquiry
- Have the follow-up conversation that an enquiry leads to, including scoping a possible project
- Keep a record of our correspondence so we have context if you contact us again
- Operate, secure and maintain this website
- Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations that apply to us
We do not send marketing email. You will not be added to a mailing list by submitting the enquiry form.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on the following:
- Your consent, which you give by choosing to submit the enquiry form. You may withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your enquiry.
- Our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries about our services, in keeping this website secure and available, and in maintaining ordinary business records.
- Steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, where your enquiry concerns work you want us to carry out.
- Compliance with a legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose information.
8. International transfers
Our hosting provider operates a global content delivery network, so this website is served from a data centre near you and our providers may process information in countries other than India.
Where information is transferred out of the country in which it was collected, we rely on the transfer mechanisms our providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses, and on the safeguards required by applicable law.
9. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is useful to the conversation it belongs to, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Where an enquiry becomes a client engagement, we keep the records for as long as the engagement and any legal or accounting obligation requires.
Where an enquiry does not lead anywhere, we delete it once it is clear that it will not. You can ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Server logs held by our hosting provider are retained according to that provider’s own retention schedule, which is short.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access — to be told what information we hold about you and to receive a copy of it
- Correction — to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
- Erasure — to have information deleted where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Restriction — to ask us to limit how we use information while a concern is resolved
- Objection — to object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests
- Portability — to receive certain information in a portable, machine-readable form
- Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on
- Complaint — to complain to your data protection authority
To exercise any of these, write to us at contact@openecore.com. We will respond within the time applicable law allows, and normally sooner. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
11. Security
This website is served only over HTTPS. We keep the information we hold on a need-to-know basis, use reputable providers, and take technical and organisational measures appropriate to the small amount of personal information involved.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us confidential technical material, credentials, or sensitive personal information through the enquiry form. If an enquiry needs that, tell us and we will arrange a secure channel.
12. Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at contact@openecore.com and we will delete it.
13. Links to other sites
This website may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them. Read their policies before giving them information.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website changes or as the law requires. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing the text.
